Furnace replacement in Aurora and nearby towns

High-efficiency gas furnaces sized to a heat-loss calculation of your house. Most installs take one day.

Typically $4,800 to $7,500 installed

When replacement makes sense

Most furnaces we replace are 18 to 25 years old. A cracked heat exchanger, a repair over about $1,200 on a furnace past 15 years, or an 80% unit that has needed a part every winter are the usual reasons.

How we size it

We measure the house and run a room-by-room heat-loss calculation. Many 1990s homes in Naperville and Aurora have furnaces one size too big, which makes them short cycle and leaves the far bedrooms cold.

We also check whether the old chimney can be used. A 96% furnace vents through new PVC pipe out the side wall, and that work is in the quote.

Rebates and financing

Nicor Gas has offered rebates on 95% and higher furnaces; we check the current amount and file the paperwork as part of the job. Financing through our lending partner is available on installs over $3,000.

Warranty

Manufacturer parts warranty (usually 10 years, registered for you) and a 2-year labor warranty on our install.

From customers after the visit

“Furnace quit around 9pm on a Sunday in January with the temperature at 4 degrees. I called at 9:15, the on-call tech phoned back about ten minutes later and was in our driveway by 10:30. It was the igniter. He had one on the truck, showed me the cracked one, and the heat was running by 11. The $95 after-hours charge was on the paper before he started. Not cheap for a Sunday night, but no surprises.”

  • “Our upstairs ran 6 degrees warmer than the first floor every July. Two other companies quoted a bigger AC. Comfort Pro measured the ductwork, added two dampers and a second thermostat, and the bedrooms now stay within a degree of downstairs.”

  • “Spring tune-up found a weak capacitor on our 2009 condenser. He swapped it during the visit for $165 and we had AC through the June heat wave. Shoe covers on, and he wiped down the furnace closet before leaving.”
