AC replacement in Aurora and nearby towns

Central air sized with a Manual J load calculation, installed with a new pad, disconnect and line set where needed.

Typically $5,500 to $9,000 installed

When replacement makes sense

A system that still uses R-22 refrigerant, a failed compressor on a unit over 12 years old, or an AC that runs all afternoon in July and still leaves the upstairs at 80 degrees.

How we size it

We run a Manual J load calculation using your square footage, insulation, windows and which way the house faces. An oversized AC cools fast and leaves the house damp; an undersized one runs nonstop on the hottest days.

If one system is cooling two floors, we look at zoning or a ductwork change before recommending a bigger unit.

What the price includes

Equipment, a new pad, electrical disconnect and whip, refrigerant line flush or replacement, the village permit and a ComEd rebate filing where one applies. HOA placement rules are checked before install day.

Warranty

Manufacturer parts warranty (usually 10 years, registered for you) and a 2-year labor warranty on our install.

“Furnace quit around 9pm on a Sunday in January with the temperature at 4 degrees. I called at 9:15, the on-call tech phoned back about ten minutes later and was in our driveway by 10:30. It was the igniter. He had one on the truck, showed me the cracked one, and the heat was running by 11. The $95 after-hours charge was on the paper before he started. Not cheap for a Sunday night, but no surprises.”

  • “Our upstairs ran 6 degrees warmer than the first floor every July. Two other companies quoted a bigger AC. Comfort Pro measured the ductwork, added two dampers and a second thermostat, and the bedrooms now stay within a degree of downstairs.”

  • “Spring tune-up found a weak capacitor on our 2009 condenser. He swapped it during the visit for $165 and we had AC through the June heat wave. Shoe covers on, and he wiped down the furnace closet before leaving.”
